Yucca
Yuccas make a bold statement in the landscape all year-round. Their long, striking rosette leaves demand attention, and their infrequent blooms are very showy.
Because yuccas generally grow very slowly, and also take a long time to bloom, the larger plants are not offered by many garden centers and plant nurseries. When you purchase a larger yucca, you should know that a lot of care has gone into the plant!
However, when we say “care” here, we say it in the sense of lots of patience- definitely not lots of attentiveness. In fact, native to hot and dry areas in the Americas, they are extremely drought tolerant, extremely low maintenance, and hardy. Some can even live in places like New York and Vermont! This is one tough plant.
